Narmer Engsim's ACE Hydrocyclone aims to impress. Here are our experimental results when using an ultrafine coal sample.

Procedure

A sample of ultrafine was used to experimentally evaluate the separation rate and efficiency of the DV-hydrocyclone.

  • Mean particle size ~ 20 microns

  • Slurry mass loading ~ 9.1%

  • Added quartz particle ~ 100 mesh @ 3% 

  • Slurry flow rate ~ 0.5 L/s

  • Air flow rate ~ 2 L/s @ standard atmospheric condition

Results

  • Separation efficiency > 95%

  • High separation rates

  • 80% recovery of fine/ultrafine coal

  • 30% Less Power Consumed than froth tank separators
